Gudlevskis signed a deal with Dinamo Riga on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Gudlevskis came up through the Riga junior ranks, so this move is somewhat of a homecoming for the Latvian. Selected by the Lightning in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft, the netminder was unable to crack the lineup for the Islanders last season, instead spending the year with AHL Bridgeport Sound. In 37 minor-league appearances, the 25-year-old registered a meager 12-16-2 record and .897 save percentage.

2014 Fantasy Outlook
The Latvian wunderkind is best remembered for his superhero-like, 55-save performance against Canada in the quarter-finals at the 2014 Olympics. He has talent, but that performance may just end up as the best of his career. Don't get us wrong - he's going to be a good NHL goalie, but for now, he's still raw. Last season, he played himself out of the ECHL, so expect him to spend all of 2014-15 trying to do the same in the AHL.
