Fraser has been traded to the Blackhawks along with Andrew Ladd and Jay Harrison, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
As noted by TSN's Darren Dreger, the Jets will receive center Marko Dano, a first-round draft pick in 2016, and a conditional draft pick. This is a very nice deal for the Blackhawks, and the addition of Fraser provides the defending champs with a hard-working depth forward capable of playing on the left or right wing. He's played in 87 NHL games since entering with the Stars in 2011-12, but the Jets didn't use the undrafted Fraser outside of 44 games with minor-league affiliate Manitoba, pitching in five goals and nine assists in 44 games.

Part of the Bruins' haul from the Stars in last summer’s Tyler Seguin blockbuster, Fraser is coming off a season in which he recorded 20 goals and 30 points in 44 AHL contests with Providence. The 24-year-old winger also saw action in 14 regular season games with the B's, recording two goals. After being pressed into action during the NHL playoffs, Fraser more than held his own, offering encouragement that he is equipped to make a run at a roster spot with the Bruins this fall. The team, after all, needs to fill a couple of spots up front after parting ways with Jarome Iginla and Shawn Thornton this summer. While Fraser is bouncing back from off-season foot surgery, he expects to be at full strength for training camp. He’s proven to be a productive goal-scorer in the minors, and while his AHL scoring pace is likely unsustainable, Fraser could merit deep league attention if injuries given him additional opportunities beyond simply sticking with the big club.
Fraser briefly saw NHL time last season, notching three points over 12 games. He was a productive sniper for the AHL's Texas Stars though, scoring 33 goals and adding 13 assists over 62 games. The 23-year-old – who came over in the Tyler Seguin blockbuster – should challenge for a roster spot with the Bruins, presumably as a third-line winger.
Fraser was the highest goal-scoring, first-year player in the AHL last year, racking up 37 in 73 games for the Texas Stars. He needs work in his own zone (he finished the year at minus-13 despite the nice point total), but enters the year as Dallas' most advanced prospect at left wing. He'll likely see occasional time in the NHL this year, but he'll spend the bulk of the year in the AHL again.
