Part of the Bruins' haul from the Stars in last summer’s Tyler Seguin blockbuster, Fraser is coming off a season in which he recorded 20 goals and 30 points in 44 AHL contests with Providence. The 24-year-old winger also saw action in 14 regular season games with the B's, recording two goals. After being pressed into action during the NHL playoffs, Fraser more than held his own, offering encouragement that he is equipped to make a run at a roster spot with the Bruins this fall. The team, after all, needs to fill a couple of spots up front after parting ways with Jarome Iginla and Shawn Thornton this summer. While Fraser is bouncing back from off-season foot surgery, he expects to be at full strength for training camp. He’s proven to be a productive goal-scorer in the minors, and while his AHL scoring pace is likely unsustainable, Fraser could merit deep league attention if injuries given him additional opportunities beyond simply sticking with the big club.
