Wotherspoon has been one of the more reliable defensemen for the Flames' AHL affiliate the last two seasons, as he has amassed 33 points in 109 games. He only played in one regular season tilt in 2014-15 but did get six games worth of playoff experience as well. Wotherspoon will have to battle Ladislav Smid and Deryk Engelland for the Flames' sixth defenseman spot, and Wotherspoon will have to show a little more than he has in his previous stints in order to overtake the two veterans.
