Several seasons removed from a promising major-junior career, Galiev’s stock has taken a hit in recent years, but the 23-year-old winger appears to have gotten back on track in 2014-2015. Spending his first full season in the AHL ranks, Galiev rekindled his scoring touch with 25 goals and 45 points in 67 games, buoyed largely by a league-leading 15 goals and 26 points on the power play. With the arrival of right wingers T.J. Oshie and Justin Williams, Galiev is likely to return to AHL Hershey for most of 2015-16, but may find his way to regular playing time in the NHL as early as next season.
