At 6-foot-3, 218-pound Dziurzynski is a big, physical presence on the back end. He racked up 91 PIM in 68 games with AHL Binghamton last season, and collected 13 goals and 12 assists as well. In 12 games with the Senators, he managed just two goals and 13 PIM, but he's a good candidate to get called up at some point during the season.
Dziurzynski only managed to score two points in 12 games with the Senators in 2013. One would expect a learning curve with any young player so he could improve in 2013-14. However, a closer look at some of his advanced metrics suggests his scoring touch isn't all that's missing from his game right now. Dizzy's Corsi rating of minus-12.68 was the worst on the team by almost nine points. If he can't be more responsible in his own zone, it's not likely he'll be a fixture in the lineup this season.
Dziurzynski will spend the entire 2010-11 season in Binghamton, but he has some decent sleeper potential as a power forward. Signed as a free agent in the offseason, Dziurzynski is big, has soft hands, and can skate which is a nice combination. He's likely two years away from cracking the NHL if he can get stronger and learn to play at the pro level.
