Parse had another injury-riddled season for the Kings, seeing action in just nine games befoe undergoing hip surgery. He made some noise about a late-season comeback that never materialized and he'll look to hook on with another team as an unrestricted free agent.
Parse battled both hip and groin injuries from the start of training camp and never got back to full health, appearing in just five games for the Kings. The offseason acquisitions of Simon Gagne and Mike Richards figure to keep Parse off either of the top two scoring lines as he looks to rebound from last year's injury-filled campaign. A 15-goal season isn't out of the question if he can work his way onto a scoring line.
Parse parlayed some time on the team's second scoring line into a decent rookie season, with 24 points (11G, 13A) in 59 games for the Kings. The emergence of Wayne Simmonds will limit his chances to occasionally skate on a scoring line but he'll give the Kings some scoring punch on the third or fourth line. He never was much of a scorer in the AHL, so expecting a repeat performance may be wishful thinking.
