Casey Pierro-Zabotel

Pierro-Zabotel got his first taste of minor league action in 2009-10, spending most of his time in the ECHL. He was a point machine in the WHL, but will have to show the same touch before getting a chance to crack Pittsburgh's lineup. Pierro-Zabotel scored 12 goals and 41 points in 49 contests for the Wheeling Nailers. He got a cup of coffee with the Baby Pens, assisting on one goal in nine games, and will look to establish himself in the AHL in 2010-11.

Pierro-Zabotel led the WHL in scoring with 115 points (36, 79) in 72 contests. He'll get his first taste of the AHL in the fall. The Pittsburgh organization will look for the 20-year-old to make the transition from center to wing, as the big club is set for the foreseeable future up the middle. He probably won't crack the NHL until the team moves from The House that Mario Built (the Civic/Mellon Arena) to The House That Mario (and Many Others) Paid For (the Consol Energy Center) next season.
