Ebbett has agreed to a contract with Barys Astana of the KHL, Igor Eronko of Sports-Express reports.
ANALYSIS
It was reported earlier in the summer that Ebbett had signed on to join SC Bern in Switzerland's top league, but it looks like he'll have a different international destination in 2015-16. The forward was a frequent call-up from the minors for the Penguins last season, logging 24 appearances. The move to Europe should give him a little more stability.

Ebbett earned a role on the Canucks roster out of training camp last season, but was never able to carve out much of a role after experiencing foot and shoulder injuries that sidelined him for much of the year. In 18 games, he finished with six points (5 G, 1 A) while averaging under 10 minutes of ice time per game. He inked a two-way deal with Vancouver in the offseason, so the 29-year-old center will once again have to prove his worth in camp.
Ebbett split time between Phoenix and San Antonio of the AHL last season. The center was successful with the Rampage, totaling 38 points (11 G, 27 A) in 37 games, but his production didn’t translate to the NHL level, as he produced just five points in 33 appearances with the Coyotes. He signed with Vancouver this offseason, but Ebbett appears destined for another season split between the NHL and minors.
Ebbett had eight goals and 32 points in 48 games last season and could be worth a look in deeper leagues. He played some with Teamu Selanne but will probably center the third or fourth line this season.
