Morin spent his third-straight year with the Texas Stars (AHL) in 2011-12, chipping in a tidy 53 assists in 76 games, but hasn’t been called upon at the NHL level save for a three-game stretch back in 2010-11. That's expected to continue this year.
Morin signed a two-year, two-way deal with Dallas after the 2010-11 season on the heels of two solid seasons in the AHL (21-31-52 in 80 gamesl 21-24-45 in 64 games) and should return in a similar role for 2011-12. If he hits the ice for a prolonged stretch in the NHL, something's gone terribly wrong in Dallas.
Morin will skate for the Texas Stars (AHL) for the second straight year after spending several years in the Washington system following his selection in the 2004 draft. He's a decent scorer in the minors, but projects as nothing more than a depth forward in the NHL.
Morin's first look at professional hockey came in 2006-07 at ECHL South Carolina in the low minors. The former ninth-round pick won't advance much further this season.
