The Blues traded Lindstrom and a conditional 2016 sixth-round draft pick to the Maple Leafs on Monday in exchange for forward Olli Jokinen.
ANALYSIS
With the Blues' forward ranks at full health, Lindstrom had been forced to serve as a regular scratch over the last few weeks. The move to Toronto should provide a clearer path to ice time, but Lindstrom will first need to showcase some sustained production before warranting intrigue in most fantasy formats. Even when he's seen action with the Blues this season, Lindstrom hasn't done much with the opportunity, producing only three goals and three assists over 34 games.

The Blues signed Lindstrom to a one-year contract in May, after the 30-year-old torched the Swedish Hockey League for 117 points over 108 games the past two seasons. Lindstrom does have 97 NHL games under his belt during stints with the Blue Jackets, Coyotes and Avalanche, but has not played in the league since the 2011-12 season. His time away from the North American brand of hockey may hurt his chances of winning a roster spot for the Blues in training camp, but he could resurface as a bottom-six option for the team at some point during the season if he excels at AHL Chicago.
Lindstrom never met the expectations he was faced with in Columbus, but a fresh start with the Ducks may be just what is needed to get him on track and producing at the offensive end. Still, he comes to an organization with significantly more depth than the Jackets, which will force him to compete for an Opening Night roster spot, and could push him down to Iowa (AHL) for some minor league seasoning before an injury or ineffectiveness open up an opportunity for him to stick with the Ducks.
Depth winger has shown occasional flashes of offense at the AHL level.
Lindstrom looked solid in his first full North American season, scoring 43 points in 64 AHL games and getting a cup of coffee with the Blue Jackets. He'll get a chance at a regular spot in Columbus during training camp.
