Hale has over 300 games of NHL experience and was signed in the off-season as a depth defenseman who can help out some of the young kids with Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. Hale has little to no fantasy potential and will likely spend the entire 2010-11 season in the AHL.
No hands, no fists, no value... at least in the fantasy arena. He's a number five-six defender who just does his job and keeps his nose clean.
In 58 games during the 2007-2008 season, Hale had two points. He has never been a spectacular player on defense and thus carries no real fantasy value. One could think that Hale's tenure with the Coyotes might be his last chance in an NHL sweater.
Hale was traded to Calgary from New Jersey late in 2006-07, and had 10 PIM and no points in 11 games. With the departure of some Flames defensemen, Hale may find himself on the third defenseman pairing but is not a scorer.
One of the Devils more promising defensemen, Hale is a pure stay-at-home guy who might crack 10 points.
One of New Jersey's more promising prospects, Hale however does not have much fantasy value, as he is a stay-at-home defenseman. He's also not guaranteed a start every evening, as New Jersey has a crowded blueline.
