Lundmark (groin) has cleared waivers and will report to AHL Milwaukee, the Tennessean reports.
ANALYSIS
Given his injury status and tendency for spotty play, it doesn't sound like we will be seeing Lundmark back in the NHL anytime soon.

It's hard to believe this guy was once considered one of the most promising up-and-coming players in hockey. Since breaking in with the Rangers in 2002-03, Lundmark has never played more than 56 games, or scored more than 19 points, with any of the five teams he's been with. Lundmark has loads of offensive talent, but he's incredibly injury-prone and too much of a risk for fantasy purposes.
Lundmark is coming dangerously close to being labeled a bust. The shame of the situation is that he put up solid numbers (52 points, 15 G, 37 A) with the Quad City Flames in 54 games last season. He also appeared in 27 games with Calgary last season, only recording eight goals and eight assists. It's hard to expect anything out of this former first round draft pick but it never hurts to keep his name in the very back of your head in case he finally decides to break out.
Lundmark spent last season in AHL Lake Erie, where he scored 33 points in 51 games. He has seen quite a bit of NHL time in his career, but has never recaptured his scoring stroke from very early in his career. He will be a third- or fourth-line winger if he makes the team and has very little fantasy value.
After coming over to the Flames from the Coyotes in 2005-06, Lundmark played extremely well, notching 10 points in 12 games. However, for some reason the Flames still did not use him much for the playoffs. Lundmark should start the season on the third line, and that does not bode well for fantasy owners. Expect around 20-25 points from him this season.
Ever since he was selected ninth overall in the 1999 NHL draft, the highly touted winger has been compared to every great hockey legend to grace rinks around the league. He best typifies a hit or miss player and could be a potential 'bust', but Lundmark has way too much talent for us to write him off just yet. For the first time in his career, he won't be relegated to fourth-line duty on the team, and will have the chance to strut his stuff on legitimate scoring units. We'll see soon enough which Lundmark will show up on the ice, but if he can make a strong statement early, watch out.
