GOALIE
Carey Price, MON vs. PHI ($7,800): Price may have lost four of his past five, but he posted a save percentage better than .919 in all but one of those games. Carter Hart and the Flyers have lost some of their luster, allowing five goals against the Lightning and Wings, and four goals against the Pens and Wild. If you want an even better (riskier?) bargain, take a look at Cory Schneider ($7,600), who won his first start in a year against the Sabres on Sunday, and faces the Matt Duchene-less Sens.
CENTER
Aleksander Barkov, FLA vs. CAR ($7,000): That's seven points in the past two games for Barkov, including a goal of the year candidate against the Habs. The Hurricanes offense is good, but the Panthers offense has been just as efficient, too, being held below three goals just once in their past six games despite facing the Caps and Lightning.
Colin White, OTT at NJ ($4,800): With a three-point effort against Chicago playing with Mark Stone and Brady Tkachuk, and also with Matt Duchene out of the lineup, White is going to be leaned on a lot. He has become the de facto top center on a team very thin on talent, but despite all the drama this season have been quite effective on offense. White's scored two goals in two games against them this season.
WING
Nikita Kucherov, TB vs. BUF ($7,700): He's about as close to a sure bet these days and sits just one point shy of hitting the century mark… with 21 games to go. At 1.62 points per game, that puts Kucherov on pace for 133 points, which would be the highest total ever in the cap era. For a record-setting season he's still not being priced like one, and against the Sabres he's a far better bet than fellow countrymen Alex Ovechkin ($7,600) or Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,500).
Brock Boeser, VAN vs. ARI ($6,100): Only one thing has been consistent about the Canucks this season – no matter what happens, Boeser is playing alongside Elias Pettersson. The sophomore sniper has a goal in two straight games and the Canucks are coming off a long four-day break, giving the group plenty of time to regroup after a tough California road trip. The wild card is Ryan Spooner, who is making his Canucks debut and will play on the left wing, but at least it's a relatively easy first assignment against the Coyotes.
Jaden Schwartz, STL at DAL ($4,700): With 22 teams in action there's plenty to pick from, but don't overlook Schwartz, who has 13 points in his past 22 games – including five in his past five – after scoring just 14 in the first three months of the season. They're not mind-blowing numbers, but it wasn't too long ago he was a bona fide top-line winger and after a slew of injuries the pickup in offense is encouraging. Anton Khudobin, who's expected to start, has lost three straight games.
DEFENSE
Mikhail Sergachev, TB vs. BUF ($3,900): We picked Sergachev last time and he rewarded us with a goal, so with Victor Hedman out again, even a slight price increase won't deter us from going back to the well. I'm not even sure what's more frightening: the Lightning power play or that the Sabres are forced to use Zach Bogosian and Nathan Beaulieu as their top penalty killers.
Troy Stecher, VAN vs. ARI ($3,000): Stecher averaged over 29 minutes per game during the three-game California road trip, largely due to a blue line decimated by injuries, and the Canucks are planning to dress rookie Ashton Sautner. It's a big opportunity for the little engine that could, but the best part is that he will continue to QB the top power play in Alex Edler's absence. This is very good value considering teammate Alex Biega is $3,600 (how???) and Johnny Boychuk is $4,000.
