There are only so many days left in the NHL regular season, so why not make the most of it? Which is to say, why not play daily fantasy hockey with a full slate of games Sunday? To be able to choose your lineup from all five games, you'll need to have it in by 12:30 PM ET. So if you can make that work, here are my recommendations.
GOALIE
Thomas Greiss, NYI vs. ARI ($8,300): Basically every team playing Sunday played Saturday, including the Islanders. However, the Coyotes are also playing their second game in as many days, and they also have to deal with being on the road. Arizona also sits in the bottom-five in goals per contest, while Greiss sports a 2.29 GAA.
CENTER
Nicklas Backstrom, WAS vs. PHI ($6,700): The Capitals are the only home team Sunday that didn't play Saturday, giving Backstrom and company a bit of an advantage. Of course, Backstrom has 69 points - including 25 on the power play - so it's not like he needs much help, although he will get the benefit of Philadelphia's 25th-ranked penalty kill.
Carl Soderberg, COL at CHI ($4,900): These two teams are playing the second leg of a home-and-home, so neither has much of an advantage. What Soderberg does have going for him is the Blackhawks' 3.63 GAA and the fact Cam Ward will likely be in net. As for the Swede's own bona fides, he enters with 22 goals and 23 assists in 75 games.
WING
Anders Lee, NYI vs. ARI ($6,500): Lee recently ran a four-game goal streak, giving him 27 goals on the season. While Darcy Kuemper has played impressive hockey recently in trying to get the Coyotes in the playoffs, he started Saturday. That means Calvin Pickard, who enters with a 3.92 GAA and .873 save percentage, will likely be in net.
Justin Williams, CAR vs. MON ($5,300): Despite being 37, Williams has not slowed down as the season has worn on. In fact, since the start of February, he's racked up 20 points in 25 games. Catching the Habs on the second night of a back-to-back probably means he will miss facing Carey Price as well. Going up against Antti Niemi and his 3.78 GAA/.887 save percentage promises an entirely different proposition.
Josh Anderson, CLM at VAN ($5,100): Anderson has recently been skating on Columbus' second line with two former Senators in Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel. He brings plenty of his own to that line, with 24 goals on 214 shots in 74 games this season. Though the Blue Jackets are on the road, they didn't play Saturday while the Canucks did. That gives Anderson and crew a bit of a boost in terms of fantasy potential.
DEFENSE
Tyson Barrie, COL at CHI ($6,300): All you need to know is that Barrie has averaged 4:07 per game and notched 23 points with the extra man. Actually, it might help you know a couple more things, like the fact the Blackhawks own the league's worst penalty kill.
Erik Gustafsson, CHI vs. COL ($5,800): Quietly, Gustafsson has been the go-to source for offense for the Blackhawks from the blue line. This includes the power play, where he's registered 17 points in 71 games. As for the Avalanche, they come in with the 27th-ranked penalty kill, and they likely won't be firing on all cylinders on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.
