Tuesday's featured NHL slate begins at 7:00 p.m. EDT and features seven games. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
SLATE PREVIEW
This slate features four heavy favorites, with the Maple Leafs (in Vancouver), Penguins (vs. New Jersey), Stars (vs. Detroit) and Panthers (vs. Columbus) all expected to cruise to victory. The Toronto and Pittsburgh games are also tied for the highest over/under at 6.0 goals. Though the other three games project to be low-scoring and more competitive, there's still value to be found in the Rangers-Islanders, Hurricanes-Lightning and Ducks-Kings matchups.
GOALIES
Jake Oettinger, DAL vs. DET ($8,200): Oettinger should start this second leg after Anton Khudobin defeated Detroit on Monday. The visiting Red Wings average a league-low 2.21 goals per game, while Oettinger has a stellar 2.16 GAA and .919 save percentage, including just one goal allowed to each of his last two opponents.
Chris Driedger, FLA vs. CLS ($8,100): Driedger figures to get this start after Sergei Bobrovsky presided over Monday's 4-2 win, though it's possible 2019 first-rounder Spencer Knight ($7,900) will be tabbed for his NHL debut after working as Bobrovsky's backup Monday. Whomever gets the start for Florida will have a favorable matchup against a Columbus team that's 1-8-1 in its last 10 games, and Driedger has been strong all season, with a 12-5-3 record, 2.09 GAA and .927 save percentage.
Igor Shesterkin, NYR at NYI ($7,500): Shesterkin was instrumental in the Rangers' recent four-game sweep of the Devils, notching shutouts in two of his three starts during that stretch. He's 6-1-2 in his last nine starts and draws an Islanders team that's struggling to score, having mustered only two goals over their last three games and exceeded one goal just twice in their last seven.
Alex Nedeljkovic, CAR at TB ($7,400): Nedeljkovic is a high-risk, high-reward against-the-grain option against a Lightning team that's without Steven Stamkos (lower body). The rookie netminder has allowed just one goal on 52 shots over his last two starts and shut out the Lightning earlier this season en route to a 10-4-2 record, 1.92 GAA and .930 save percentage overall.
VALUE PLAYS/ONE-OFFS
Sam Bennett, FLA vs. CLS ($2,600): Bennett never lived up to the hype as the fourth overall selection in the 2014 draft with the Flames, but he ended his tenure in Calgary on a four-game point streak and has kept rolling with a goal and two assists through two games with the Panthers. Working as the second-line center with Noel Acciari sidelined by an upper-body injury, Bennett's a terrific value option at just $2,600.
William Nylander, TOR at VAN ($5,500): The Canucks weren't the only ones who came off the COVID-19 list for Sunday's clash between these two teams, as Nylander also made his return after missing nearly two weeks and picked up where he left off. With a goal and an assist in that 3-2 overtime loss, Nylander now has a streak of three consecutive multi-point appearances going. The skilled winger will be looking to extend that streak against a Canucks team that's surrendering 3.18 goals per game, assuming he isn't scratched for disciplinary reasons after missing a meeting Monday.
Bo Horvat, VAN vs. TOR ($5,900): Horvat was tremendous in Vancouver's return to action Sunday, leading the way with two goals and an assist. The Canucks' captain plays his best hockey against the toughest competition, and Horvat's 5-2-7 line in six meetings with the North Division-leading Maple Leafs bears that out.
Brayden Point, TB vs. CAR ($5,700): Point proved last postseason that he's capable of great things without Stamkos on his line, and he's doing so again with two goals, an assist and 10 shots in his last two games. An elite center in his own right, Point's capable of posting another strong performance in this rematch with a tough Hurricanes team, and he'll rarely be available for as little as $5,700.
Colin Blackwell, NYR vs. NYI ($4,000): Locking in Blackwell can give you some exposure to the Rangers' surging offense without committing too much cap space to what's expected to be a low-scoring game. The affordable second-liner has five points in his last three games and a 6-6-12 line in his last 12.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Penguins vs. Devils
Sidney Crosby (C - $8,200), Jake Guentzel (W - $7,400), Bryan Rust (W - $6,900)
Pittsburgh's top line is on a roll and should stay that way against a Devils team that has won only once in its last 11 games while allowing at least five goals in six of those contests. Crosby has a 6-15-21 line in his last 15 games and a 17-33-50 line in 44 games overall. Guentzel's 20-26-46 line includes six goals and six assists in nine April contests, while Rust has a 3-3-6 line in his last five games and a 4-4-8 line in five meetings with the Devils this season.
Stars vs. Red Wings
Roope Hintz (C - $6,600), Joe Pavelski (W - $7,200), Jason Robertson (W - $6,000)
This line imposed its will against the Red Wings on Monday and should do so again one day later. Hintz has been phenomenal on a per-game basis (14-23-37 in 32 games) and has a dominant 3-10-13 line during an active six-game point streak. Pavelski has a 3-1-4 line in his last four games and his 18-23-41 line includes a league-high 11 power-play goals. Robertson has a 13-20-33 line in 39 games, and the rookie's only getting better, with a 5-4-9 output in his last seven contests.
Kings vs. Ducks
Anze Kopitar (C - $6,700), Dustin Brown (W - $5,900), Alex Iafallo (W - $5,700)
The Kings are well-rested, having been off since last Wednesday, so their veteran top line should have plenty of energy for this matchup with a Ducks team that's allowing 3.15 goals per game. Kopitar leads the Kings with 43 points in 42 games while Brown leads them in goals with 16 in 40 games. Iafallo's 26 points have him tied with Brown for third on the team, and Iafallo has been held without a point only once in his last four games.
DEFENSEMEN
Kris Letang, PIT vs. NJ ($6,200): No Penguins stack is complete without Letang, whose 35 points are good for third on the team behind Crosby and Guentzel, one ahead of Rust. The highly skilled blueliner is also a fixture on the Penguins' top power-play unit, which figures to feast on New Jersey's league-worst, 70.2 percent penalty kill.
Morgan Rielly, TOR at VAN ($5,700): Rielly is by far the best source of offense from Toronto's blue line, which makes him a strong choice in what's expected to be a fast-paced affair in Vancouver. The former 72-point scorer has 30 through 45 games this season.
Josh Manson, ANH at LA ($3,100): Manson is putting together a quietly effective stretch, having dished out an assist in three of his last four games and four of seven. He also tied a season high with three shots last game, so Manson's about as hot as he gets offensively. He's worth a look to fill out your roster on the back end while he's in a groove.
Gavin Bayreuther, CLS at FLA ($2,500): Bayreuther didn't show much offensively in his Blue Jackets debut Monday, but his production at the AHL level this season suggests you could do worse when grabbing a cheap filler on the blue line. He had 10 points in as many games with AHL Cleveland prior to being called up, and Bayreuther proved he could produce a bit at the top level with a 2-3-5 line over 19 games with the Stars in 2018-19, in what was his only previous NHL stint.
