GOALIE
Pekka Rinne, NSH vs. ARI ($8,500): On a night where every starter comes with an asterisk, I'll take my chances with who I think is the surest bet. Rinne's save percentage "dropped" to .938 and his GAA "ballooned" to 1.77 in a 3-2 loss against the Avalanche on Tuesday, but holding them to just three goals is already commendable. The Coyotes' new top line also clearly needs more time to gel.
CENTER
Matt Duchene, OTT vs. NYR ($6,600): Duchene should be picked simply based on how amazing his backhand baseball-style goal was against the Flyers. It was his first goal in four games but fourth point in three games, and he has 14 points in 16 career contests against the Rangers.
Dylan Strome, CHI at WPG ($3,900): He scored a goal and an assist in over 15 minutes of ice time playing mostly with Patrick Kane and former OHL teammate Alex DeBrincat against Vegas on Tuesday. Strome comes at a modest price of $3,900 against the Jets, who have lost three of their past four and somehow look weaker than last year. The Blackhawks may still tinker with their lines, which makes Strome a risky play, too, but the price makes him a nice value.
WING
Jeff Skinner, BUF at TB ($7,000): Skinner will attempt to extend his scoring streak to five games and the Sabres' winning streak to 11 in a high-profile matchup against Tampa. The Lightning are expected to start Louis Domingue, who has allowed three goals or more in six of nine games in November.
Brady Tkachuk, OTT vs. NYR ($6,500): Tkachuk has scored six points in his past two games and 16 in 14 this season. The Senators are fourth in goals scored but — most importantly — have a horrendous team GAA of 4.28, which is easily the worst in the league.
Ryan Donato, BOS vs. NYI ($2,800): Donato was only called up yesterday after Jake DeBrusk was injured, so he's a game-time decision. But, if Donato plays, he represents some interesting upside as a potential top-six forward. He's scored nine points in 10 games in the AHL and his lone goal in the NHL this season came on the power play. Donato is an under-the-radar play with his production obviously highly dependent on his usage.
DEFENSE
Seth Jones, CLS vs. MIN ($5,900): Jones snapped a five-game point drought with a goal against the Red Wings, but even when he doesn't score, he adds a lot of fantasy value with shots and blocks. He's played at least 26 minutes in each of his past three games and faces a similar workload against a tough Wild squad. In two games last year, Jones notched two assists and averaged 26:12 against the Wild.
Ryan McDonagh, TB vs. BUF ($5,100): McDonagh has been excellent so far, scoring 18 points in 25 games, including six in his last five. It looked like the Lightning may have paid too much for McDonagh last season, but now he's looking like a bargain. Victor Hedman and Dan Girardi will likely handle Jack Eichel's line, which again gives McDonagh the opportunity to exploit an easier assignment and continue his scoring streak.
