GOALIE
John Gibson, ANH vs. DET ($10,800): Gibson has been the Ducks' saving grace so far this season on a team riddled with injuries. He's 2-0-0 this season with a .973 save percentage and 4-3 with a 2.20 GAA lifetime against the Wings. Offense has been hard to come by for the Wings, who have just scored four goals in two games.
CENTER
Dylan Larkin, DET at ANH ($11,400): Larkin has been one of the lone bright spots for a sputtering Red Wings offense, scoring a goal and two assists this season. Without Henrik Zetterberg, Larkin is the de facto No. 1 center and likely future captain. Jeff Blashill will be leaning on him a lot.
Paul Stastny, VGK at BUF ($8,400): The Knights aren't exploding out of the gate like they did last year, but they are certainly a more balanced squad with Stastny and William Karlsson down the middle. The Sabres are talented with Jack Eichel and Casey Mittelstadt, but neither are defensive stalwarts, and their defense looks like it hasn't improved at all.
WING
Rickard Rakell, DET at ANH ($11,800): With so many injuries to start the season, the Ducks are looking at Rakell to carry the offense. He was held without a point in a 1-0 win against the Coyotes on Saturday but had three shots on goal and a blocked shot. The Wings' blue line is young and Rakell's a fixture next in the top six.
Max Pacioretty, VGK at BUF ($11,000): Pacioretty didn't have a good debut for the Knights but picked it up in his second game, registering five shots on goal and logging over 20 minutes of ice time. His presence on the power play adds another dangerous weapon, and Buffalo's soft coverage on defense should be a boon for him. In 38 career games against the Sabres, he's scored 30 points.
Max Comtois, ANH vs. DET ($5,400): He won a roster spot after a good training camp and hasn't looked back, scoring in each of his first two games. As Randy Carlyle starts to trust him more, Comtois should see his role increase. The Ducks don't have a lot of goal-scorers and in Comtois' second game, his ice time jumped to 16 minutes after playing just 11 in the season opener.
DEFENSE
Brandon Montour, ANH vs. DET ($6,900):Cam Fowler is the No. 1 defenseman, but Montour's offensive upside is much higher. He has a goal and three shots through the first two games and defensively it looks like he's improved.
Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF vs. VGK ($7,300): He logged over 26 minutes against the Rangers on Saturday and is firmly ahead of Rasmus Dahlin on the depth chart. The fast-paced Knights don't mind trading scoring chances with their opposition, which could open up the ice for the Sabres. Ristolainen remains a multi-category fantasy monster with an assist, six shots on goal and two blocked shots.
