Finishes T7 at Czech Masters
August 21, 2016
Karlsson closed with a one-under 71 to finish T7 at the Czech Masters.
ANALYSIS
With all four rounds below par and just 113 putts for the week, Karlsson looked very solid in Prague. He was six-of-seven on sand saves and hit an impressive 68% of greens-in-regulation. The former Race-To-Dubai winner will hope to carry this momentum into the Made in Denmark later this week.

In his first full-season as a PGA Tour member, Karlsson was productive, if nothing else. He failed to reach the heights that he climbed on the European Tour, but considering that a great percentage of Euro's fail in their attempts in the States, Karlsson's season as a whole should be considered a success. As with most Euro's, though, his limited schedule is going to hamper his upside. Karlsson played 18 events last year, three more than required. Perhaps he likes playing in the States, but whatever the case, he'll need to make his mark during one of the big events this season to top his 2011 number. Fortunately, Karlsson is more than capable of accomplishing that. Karlsson will get a shot in all the big events this year and needs only to play well during a couple of those to top his number from last year. In draft leagues, Karlsson should go in the fourth round.
Who would have thought that three non-American's would win majors last season and Karlsson would not be one of them? Karlsson has been a solid player in the States, but mostly abroad the last five years, and his breakthrough is probably just around the corner. That said, it's hard to predict a major win six months out, and as such, we'll place him right were he came in last year.
Karlsson had an off year in 2009, but there's no reason to think he wont bounce back this season. He doesn't play much on the PGA TOUR, but he's a valuable piece during the majors and other big events. Karlsson moved from 6th to 27th in the final 2009 Official World Golf Rankings.
Last season was a career year (two wins) and follows successive past yearly stats improvement. Dominant in both Europe and USA.
