McEvoy picked up his first career European Tour victory at the Porsche European Open after a birdie at the 72nd hole.
ANALYSIS
Last week McEvoy won a challenge tour event, so you knew he was playing some strong golf. He looked to pick up right where he left off and fired off rounds of 70-65-69 to give himself a share of the 54-hole lead with young American star, Bryson DeChambeau. Not much happened until the 15th hole where DeChambeau hit his second shot in the water and made bogey, while McEvoy dropped in a birdie putt to take a one shot lead. The Englishman was unable to par the tough par-3 17th hole to fall into a group at 10-under that had already finished. McEvoy smoothly rolled in about a 15 foot putt on 18 to seal his first career European Tour victory.
