A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier
White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia
The Old White TPC - Par 70 - 7,287 yards
Field - 156 Entrants
Purse - $7.3M

The Preview

Tucked away in small-town White Sulphur Springs, The Greenbrier features an unusually calm atmosphere along with its tribute to our military during the patriotic week of the Fourth of July. The 156-entrant field is lacking a single player in the top-10 of the OWGR, but several notable names including Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson and Tony Finau will tee it up in West Virginia this week. The Old White TPC is a lengthy par-70 layout with generously wide fairways connecting to challenging, smaller greens. Power off the tee combined with adept scrambling and putting would be a recipe for success, while par-four scoring should also be focused on at The Greenbrier. Without a ton of starpower at the top of this field, it wouldn't be shocking to see a first-time winner as many lesser-known names understand this week could be paramount for their positioning in the FedExCup standings.

FantasyDraft Value Picks - based on $100,000 salary cap

Cream of the Crop

Webb Simpson - $16,700

At No. 10 in the FedExCup standings, Simpson has found his groove with the putter all season while also ranking 32nd in SG: Approach and 25th in SG: Around-the-Green. He's 17th in one of the most important categories this week -- par-four scoring -- and owns four top-15s throughout his career at The Greenbrier.

Russell Henley - $16,400

Coming off three consecutive top-30s and a sixth-place finish at the Quicken Loans National, Henley could be one of the more popular top-tier plays this week as he's also finished top-five at back-to-back Greenbriers. The 46th-ranked player in the OWGR is also top-25 on Tour in both GIR percentage and driving accuracy.

Glue Guys

Danny Lee - $14,900

The 2015 Greenbrier champion has been stellar in his last three trips to The Old White TPC, notching finishes of T9-Win-T16 in three appearances since 2014. He's been a bit inconsistent of late, but has paid off with three top-15s in his past six starts. This week lends Lee an important opportunity to move further inside of the top-125 in the FedExCup standings, as he currently sits at just 112th.

Brian Gay - $14,400

Gay's brutal course history at The Greenbrier should scare off a number of potential owners, given the fact that he's made the cut just once in six trips to The Old White TPC with a 72nd-place finish as his best showing. He's finished top-20 in four of his past five starts, however, and he's top-40 on Tour in SG: Putting, SG: Around-the-Green and birdie average.

Anirban Lahiri - $14,300

Lahiri finished top-15 for the second straight week at last week's Quicken Loans National, following his ninth-place finish at the Travelers Championship. He led the field in SG: Putting at TPC Potomac, while another solid performance with the flat stick would be huge at The Old White TPC. Lahiri has posted an impressive scoring average of 67.625 throughout his past eight tournament rounds.

Bargain Bin

Andrew Putnam - $14,100

Putnam, who finished a disappointing 182nd in the FedExCup standings last season, is having himself quite a bounceback campaign with nearly $1.4M in earnings through 20 events played. He's ascended to a career-best 146th in the OWGR and ranks 15th on Tour in GIR percentage and 30th in SG: Around-the-Green. His recent results include finishes of T27-2-T20 in his last three starts.

Brandon Harkins - $12,400

The 31-year-old rookie has made the cut in all but one of his last seven starts, including three consecutive top-40 finishes heading into The Greenbrier. He'll be making his Old White TPC debut this week, but Harkins ranks 34th on Tour in driving distance, 18th in birdie average and 23rd in putting from 10-15 feet.
