Goodson emerged as a third-down back for the Colts late last season after several injuries in the backfield. He had six receptions for 34 yards and 13 carries for 87 yards in six games. His season ended on a sour note, however, as the last meaningful play of a Week 18 must-win game for Indianapolis was a dropped pass by Goodson that would have extended a potential game-winning drive with just over a minute to play. Goodson, Trey Sermon and Evan Hull will compete for the backup job to Jonathan Taylor this summer. While he weighs less than 200 pounds and has taken just 19 regular-season touches since going undrafted in 2022, it wouldn't be shocking if Goodson challenged Hull for a role as the two-minute/hurry-up back. Efficient in Week 6 win
Goodson rushed eight times for 51 yards and brought in four of five targets for 14 yards in the Colts' 20-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Goodson finished with a team-high amount of rushing yards thanks in large part to a game-long 33-yard run. The second-year back was also encouragingly involved as a pass catcher, with his four receptions serving as a career high. If Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is forced to sit out a third consecutive game in next Sunday's home matchup against the Dolphins, Goodson may have earned himself a much closer time share with interim lead back Trey Sermon.
