Hill landed on IR in early December due to a foot injury. He had his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday but isn't ready to return to game action. Hill played a meaningful role in Carolina's secondary early in the campaign, but he hasn't logged a defensive snap -- largely due to injuries -- since joining the Buccaneers in mid-November.

The veteran corner was traded back to the Rams a little more than a year after signing a two-year, $9 million contract with the Browns during the 2021 offseason. He again will slot in as a starting corner opposite Jalen Ramsey. Hill didn't light up the stat sheet in his one season with the Browns and lost the last four games of the season due to a knee injury, but he'll try and recreate the magic of 2020's 77-tackle, three-interception campaign in his return to Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old was deemed expendable after Cleveland invested a third-round pick in Mississippi State cornerback Martin Emerson on Friday, and Hill's departure could also set the stage for 2021 first-round selection Greg Newsome to take over Hill's former nickelback duties.
