Johnson has officially retired from the NFL after declining to play under a minimum salary, per Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Johnson ends his career with 186 total tackles, 25.5 sacks and 87 hits on the quarterback. Though not necessarily a threat on the field, Johnson was an underrated run stuffer who was able to cause havoc in the backfield. The defensive tackle played one game with Seattle before being cut in 2018, not playing in the 2019 season.

Johnson signed with Seattle this offseason after spending four years with the Vikings. He produced 49 tackles and four sacks over the last two seasons. Johnson may be slowing down with age, as he'll be 34 years old when Week 1 kicks off. He'll be the team's starting defensive tackle in 2018, but he has limited upside as an IDP asset.

Johnson provides depth at defensive tackle. The veteran recorded 17 tackles, two sacks and an interception last season.

Johnson had a productive season in 2015 as he backed up Sharrif Floyd and Linval Joseph at defensive tackle. Johnson notched a career-high 36 tackles to go along with 5.5 sacks in 16 games. The 31-year-old's tackle numbers could be reduced a fraction in 2016, but expect Johnson to have a similar role on the defensive line.

Johnson's career had a revival in Minnesota as he had 6.5 sacks last year in a reserve role off the bench. He'll likely continue to be part of the defensive line rotation, as he thrived under Mike Zimmer's defensive scheme.

He'll compete for a reserve defensive line role.
