2024 Fantasy Outlook
Buffalo had an offseason of turnover in their secondary, with Micah Hyde entering free agency and potentially retiring while Jordan Poyer landed with the division-rival Dolphins. That will give Rapp the chance to step into a starting role in his second year with Buffalo after serving as a reserve in 2023 with a significant role on special teams. That isn't to say he doesn't boast plenty of experience on a defensive unit, as he served as a regular starter for much of his four-year tenure with the Rams. That sample tells us that Rapp has the skills to be a ball-hawking safety - he has multiple picks in three of his five seasons - that also racks up a lot of tackles. Given his limited role in his first year with the Bills, his full potential in 2024 may be overlooked. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
The starting safety played last week with the same injuries but missed practice Wednesday. Rapp has played on more than 80 percent of the defensive snaps in 11 of the 12 games he's appeared in this season. With Rapp and Damar Hamlin (back) both out, Kareem Jackson and Cole Bishop are the next men up at safety for the Bills.

Rapp steps into an interesting situation as the new Safety in Buffalo. The Bills have an exceptional pair of veteran Safeties in Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer but they've each had their share of injuries in recent years and they're not getting any younger. Rapp was a four-year starter for the Rams and should provide a younger veteran option for the Bills to rotate in.

New contract, bigger role in '24
Rapp, whom the Bills re-signed on a three-year deal worth up to $14.5 million Wednesday, should have a much bigger role in 2024 thanks to Buffalo's recent personnel moves at safety, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rapp was a solid performer during his Bills 2023 debut campaign, recording 50 tackles, including 0.5 sacks, one interception, an additional pass defensed and one fumble recovery across 16 regular-season games. The sixth-year veteran was unable to participate in the postseason due to a calf injury, but come training camp, he's expected to slot into the starting strong safety role after the release of Jordan Poyer and pending entry of Micah Hyde into the open market.
