Matthews' value is pretty much shot with the signing of Kelly Holcomb to be the #2 behind J.P. Losman, as in all likelihood Matthews will be the third string. Matthews is a 12-year veteran who will turn 35 in June, so his skills are on the decline, but he knows the Bills' offensive system and will be a positive influence on the two other guys who don't know it so well. In other words, his fantasy value is shot.
Signed by the Bills as a veteran insurance policy after Drew Bledsoe's top two projected backups were hurt in training camp.
