Hewitt signed a contract with the Titans on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hewitt's last NFL action came with the Colts, where he appeared in 12 games but caught just one pass, which was a one-yard touchdown in the team's season regular season finale against Tennessee. Delanie Walker has the No. 1 tight end spot locked up in Tennessee, leaving Hewitt to battle for a backup role.

Hewitt entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2014, and has spent time with both the Bengals and Colts since. His best campaign as a receiver came in his rookie season when he hauled in 10 catches for 86 yards. He'll fight to make the Titans' roster behind the likes of Delanie Walker and Jonnu Smith, though if he sticks around his primary role will be as a blocker.
A knee injury limited Hewitt to 13 games last year with the Bengals, but his impact really wasn't felt in the passing game. He had just two catches for 22 yards, despite Tyler Eifert missing much of the season. Frequently Hewitt will line up as a fullback and be the lead blocker, but the Bengals haven't given him any carries out of that look. Expect more of the same this season.
Despite being active for all but one game in his three years with Cincinnati, Hewitt has had little to no receiving production. In 2016, he produced just 13 yards on two receptions across 16 appearances. He'll be competing with rookie Mason Schreck for the final tight end roster spot with the Bengals, and Hewitt isn't likely to have much fantasy value even if he remains with the team.
Entering his third year in the NFL, Hewitt has played in all but a single-game in his first two years in Cincinnati. Despite seeing the field in 31 games, he totaled just 18 catches for 186 yards and no touchdowns. In 2016, it appears as if he’s in line for yet another year as the Bengals’ third-string tight end.
