Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The collapse of the New England offense fell hard on Stevenson in 2023, smothering what could have been a productive season for the talented running back before a severe high ankle sprain ended his campaign in Week 13. An improved New England offense isn't exactly guaranteed in 2024, though the Patriots would be hard-pressed to create an offense as bad as last year's even if they tried. After averaging 4.8 yards per carry over his first two seasons, Stevenson dropped to 4.0 under the weight of New England's struggles last year, which still put him well ahead of backup Ezekiel Elliott (3.5 YPC). At 6-0, 227, Stevenson is well built for large workloads, and he's also good enough as a pass catcher and blocker that he doesn't need to be taken off the field much at all. The Patriots replaced Elliott with Antonio Gibson this offseason and will again have two backs that offer both size and passing-down skills, but Stevenson is safe as the lead runner even if Gibson also has a role. RANKS
Falls just short of century mark
Stevenson carried the ball 18 times for 73 yards and caught all three of his targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
It was a solid performance from Stevenson, but his numbers would have been even better had Antonio Gibson not vultured a red-zone touchdown on an 11-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. Stevenson has gone seven straight games without reaching 80 rushing yards in a game, and the Patriots' offensive line woes have limited him to a rough 3.1 yards per carry over that stretch. The team's entire offense will get a breather, and a chance to solve some of its issues, over a Week 14 bye.

2021
Stevenson might not be very fast or quick, but it's rare to see a 230-pound back with the flexibility and coordination he has. His ability to absorb a hit and maintain balance allows him to shed tacklers and move forward rapidly even without standout speed, making Stevenson an improbably slippery ballcarrier for someone so big. The standout coordination has allowed him to become a capable pass catcher, which is another part of why he's such a good fantasy back. The list of players who can credibly take on 300 carries and 50 catches in a season is highly exclusive, and Stevenson is one of them. The Patriots probably overindulged on Stevenson's pass-catching usage last year -- the 4.7 yards per target is potentially an indication of overexposure -- but he's capable of doing more as a runner than the Patriots allowed in 2022. Whether he gets that chance this season is still to be determined, as the Patriots lost bruiser Damien Harris to the Bills but signed Ezekiel Elliott in August. Stevenson is still the starter and first receiving option out of the backfield, but Elliott likely will cut into his carries, especially at the goal line. Stevenson.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Has lost weight since last year
Stevenson showed up at camp lighter and leaner than he was in 2023, and he's looked quicker as a result, Albert Breer of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The running back bulked up a bit last season, but the results weren't what Stevenson had been looking for as his yards per carry average dropped from 5.0 in 2022 to 4.0 in 2023. The Patriots brought in Antonio Gibson this offseason to take some of the backfield workload off Stevenson's shoulders, but the fourth-year back should be the linchpin of an offense likely to have rookie Drake Maye under center at some point.
