Rest-of-Season Projections
Provides depth late for Dallas
Hilton played in three regular-season and two postseason games for Dallas in 2022, catching 10 of 15 targets for 159 yards.
ANALYSIS
The long-time Colt wound up being Plan B for the Cowboys after they determined Odell Beckham (knee) wasn't going to be able to help them for the stretch run, and Hilton made an immediate impact in his Week 16 debut when he hauled in a 52-yard catch on his only target from Dak Prescott. Hilton was purely a depth option for the team, though, and the 33-year-old's days of being an elite downfield threat are long behind him. It's not yet clear if Dallas has any interest in bringing him back in 2023, or if he'll try to catch on with another club this offseason.

After a seven-year run in which he missed only two games, Hilton missed nine in his age 28-30 seasons while playing with three quarterbacks. He'll now get a fourth QB in four years with Carson Wentz taking over in Indianapolis, and will have to battle for targets with younger players like Michael Pittman, Parris Campbell and Zach Pascal. There is reason for optimism, however. Hilton missed only one game in 2020, had 13.6 YPC and three catches of 40-plus yards. At 5-10, 183, Hilton is slight, but fast - 4.34 40 at the 2012 combine - and his quickness has always made him a tough cover for defensive backs. He will have to adjust to Wentz and Jacob Eason, hardly elite passers. However, a disc issue in his neck sent Hilton to injured reserve shortly before the start of the 2021 campaign, ruling him out for at least three games though his injury is not considered season-ending.

ANALYSIS
The veteran speedster signed a one-year deal Monday and apparently has gotten right to work. Hilton reportedly came aboard in excellent physical condition, and he's now apparently putting in the necessary work to have the mental aspect of things down as well ahead of a potential debut this weekend against the Jaguars.
