Brought in by Miami
The Dolphins signed Reed to their practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to being picked up by the Dolphins, Reed appeared in four games for the Raiders this season, recording three total tackles on 63 defensive snaps. The 27-year-old tallied 8.0 sacks for the Broncos in 2020 and he could very well be elevated to Miami's active roster, seeing work as a rotational edge rusher with the team without Bradley Chubb (knee) and Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) for the remainder of the year.

Reed's inaugural season in Pittsburgh was the worst of his NFL career, but he'll look to bounce back under DC Vic Fangio in Miami. He found as a rotational pass rusher back in Denver with Fangio and brings scheme familiarity with him to the Dolphins.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Reworks deal after trade
Reed has agreed to a reworked contract following his trade to the Steelers, reducing his base salary from $2.4 million to $1.5 million, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The reduced salary is further evidence that Reed's likely ticketed for a reserve role in Pittsburgh despite racking up 13 sacks over the previous two seasons with Denver. The Steelers have T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith locked into starting roles at outside linebacker, leaving Reed to compete for backup snaps with Jamir Jones. It's worth noting, however, that Watt and Highsmith are battling knee and rib injuries, respectively.
