Kyler Gordon

Kyler Gordon

25-Year-Old CornerbackCB
Chicago Bears
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gordon was selected in the second round of the 2022 Draft. After struggling in coverage as a rookie, Tyrique Stevenson moved ahead of Gordon on the depth chart last year. Even though the Washington product was the No. 3 cornerback, his snaps dropped. Instead of snap shares of nearly 100 percent in 13 of his 14 appearances in 2022, he fell to 80-plus percent most weeks in 2023. As a result, his tackle total decreased from 71 to 61. Unless Chicago has to deal with injuries, Gordon likely will have a similar role to what he had last season. The third-year pro still should retain a useful scoring floor as an IDP. Gordon tallied four solo tackles in the Bears' 24-22 win over the Packers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Gordon posted between four and seven tackles in all but one game this season, and his 75 total tackles (48 solo) across 15 games in 2024 were four more than his previous career high. After picking off five passes in his first two seasons, the cornerback failed to secure any this season. Gordon will go into the last year of his rookie deal, and he should remain a low-ceiling IDP unless he can outperform his career norms.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
After Gordon was taken in the second round of the 2022 Draft, the Bears needed him to be an immediate starter. And he did just that, pacing the team's cornerbacks with 823 snaps in 14 games. Despite missing time due to a pair of injuries, he put up 71 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Considering his performance as a rookie, Gordon will continue to be one of Chicago's top corners moving forward.
The Bears selected Gordon with the 39th pick in this year's draft in the hopes he'll be an immediate-impact player. Across from Jaylon Johnson there's a huge need for solid CB play, and it would be surprising if Gordon wasn't the Week 1 starter. If he's the starter, he has immediate IDP value, especially since it's unlikely any of the depth CBs would be able to push him for a lineup spot.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Extension candidate
CBChicago Bears
January 7, 2025
The Bears could look to extend Gordon this offseason, Courtney Cronin of ESPN suggests.
ANALYSIS
The Bears selected Gordon in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he's emerged as a key contributor as a slot corner. This is the first offseason that he'll be eligible for an extension, and the Bears could also be looking to extend safety Jaquan Brisker, who ended the season on injured reserve due to a concussion. With quarterback Caleb Williams still on his rookie contract and Keenan Allen set to hit free agency, the Bears are projected to have roughly $80 million in cap space this offseason, giving them plenty of flexibility to lock up core members of their secondary.
