2024 Fantasy Outlook
Harris' second season with the Patriots was much like his first, as he appeared in a handful of games when injuries hit the backfield. The 2022 sixth-round pick profiles best as a short-yardage option, lacking the speed or pass-catching skills to complement his power and size (225 pounds). Harris fumbled just once on 393 touches at South Carolina and hasn't coughed one up on 37 NFL touches, but there haven't been many signs of explosiveness to supplement the reliability. He'll head to training camp as New England's third or fourth running back, competing with JaMycal Hasty and a couple of undrafted rookies for depth roles behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. ANALYSIS
There was no room for Harris on the Pats' 53-man roster after he lost out to JaMycal Hasty for the No. 3 running back job behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Harris has played in nine regular-season games for the Patriots since being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and during that span he rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries. Harris will stay in New England and be ready for a potential promotion to the active roster during the upcoming season.

2022
Harris, a 2022 sixth-round pick, saw limited action last year, logging 18 carries for 52 yards and a TD in five games, while Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris handled the bulk of the Patriots' backfield duties. With Damien Harris now with the Bills, Harris -- along with Ezekiel Elliott, Pierre Strong and Ty Montgomery -- who will compete for the veteran's vacated carries. Although the younger Harris is no threat to overtake Stevenson as the team's top early down option, the 5-10, 225-pounder could yield occasional fantasy utility in 2023 if he secures a key backup role and Stevenson misses time.
Heading into the 2022 NFL Draft, running back didn't look like a major short-term need for the Patriots, but with Damien Harris approaching the final year of his rookie deal, the team took a proactive approach in taking Pierre Strong in Round 4 and then Kevin Harris in the sixth round. While neither rookie has a clear or immediate path to steady touches, that could change in the event of roster moves or injuries. At 5-10, 221 pounds, Kevin Harris is a power back to develop behind top early down options Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, but as long as the returnees remain healthy and available, the South Carolina product is of more interest in dynasty formats than redraft leagues.

Increasing chance of getting cut
RBNew England Patriots
August 16, 2023
Dakota Randall of NESN.com posits that Harris could be cut when the Patriots trim their roster down to 53 players ahead of Week 1.
ANALYSIS
Neither Harris nor Pierre Strong have been standing out in camp, and the ongoing struggles of the two 2022 draft picks prompted New England to sign veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott on Monday. The Patriots will likely keep only one additional running back behind Elliott and Rhamondre Stevenson, and Strong appears to have the edge over Harris thanks to Strong's superior speed and receiving ability.
