2024 Fantasy Outlook
Miller's rookie season was brief and inconclusive, but it had some promising glimpses. The 2023 third-round pick out of TCU would have faced a crowded depth chart either way with Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams ahead of him, but Miller never even got the chance to compete for reps due to a preseason knee injury and then an in-season ankle sprain. The flickers of playing time in between were interesting, particularly the pass-catching upside Miller showed against New England in Week 5 (four catches for 53 yards on four targets) and the rushing output against Atlanta in Week 18 (13 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown). Kamara and Williams are still on the roster, but Miller should at least make a push for some of the work that went to Williams during his ineffective debut season in New Orleans (2.9 YPC, one TD). Won't play in Week 18
Interim coach Darren Rizzi said Friday that Miller hasn't gained clearance from the concussion protocol and won't play Sunday at Tampa Bay, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Miller made an early departure this past Sunday against the Raiders due to a concussion, and with no practice reps to speak of through Thursday, he wasn't trending in the right direction ahead of Week 18 action. Meanwhile, Alvin Kamara (groin) is listed as doubtful, per Terrell, so the Saints appear as if they'll be without their top two options out of the backfield this weekend. As a result, practice-squad member Clyde Edwards-Helaire may be the best bet to benefit among an RB group that also includes Jamaal Williams and Jordan Mims.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Miller is arguably the wild card of the 2023 rookie running back class, both in terms of his prospect profile and his landing spot. Injury prevented Miller (5-11, 215) from pre-draft testing, leaving pertinent details such as size-adjusted speed unanswered and making it more difficult to contextualize his spectacular production at TCU. Miller averaged 6.7 yards on 361 college carries, including 1,399 yards and 17 touchdowns on 224 carries last season, but with only 29 catches in 33 games. The Saints were confident enough to draft him in the third round, though it's unclear how soon they might give him playing time with Alvin Kamara and free-agent acquisition Jamaal Williams around. Kamara's three-game suspension to open the season creates an opportunity, though it would probably be better for Miller if his teammate missed time later in the season once the rookie was more familiar with the playbook and his assignments. Even so, Miller could be involved early on, which would give him a chance to earn further playing time after Kamara's return Week 4.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely lead back Monday
Miller's in line to lead the Saints backfield Monday against the Packers, as coach Darren Rizzi said Thursday that Alvin Kamara isn't likely to play Monday at Green Bay, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Kamara suffered an adductor injury that's expected to keep him out Monday and may prove to be season-ending. Miller has been working as Kamara's primary backup since returning from a hamstring injury of his own. The Saints also have Jamaal Williams and Jordan Mims on the active roster, as well as Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Xazavian Valladay on the practice squad, so it's unclear if Miller will take on a workhorse role or be part of a committee approach in Kamara's absence.
