Kendall Fuller

Kendall Fuller

29-Year-Old CornerbackCB
Miami Dolphins
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Fuller spent the last four seasons in Washington, but he now moves on to Miami as the replacement for longtime standout Xavien Howard. One of the league's best cornerbacks by his own right, Fuller will get an opportunity to pair up with Jalen Ramsey, forming perhaps the best lock-down duo in the NFL. He figures to handle most of his snaps on the perimeter, and shouldn't be hindered at all by the knee issue that forced him to spend the final three games of 2023 on IR. Read Past Outlooks

Productive in win over Jets
CBMiami Dolphins
December 10, 2024
Fuller racked up eight tackles (four solo) and one pass defensed during Sunday's 32-26 win over New York.
ANALYSIS
Fuller, in his return from a three-game absence due to a concussion suffered Week 10, played 98 percent of defensive snaps and put together his most productive game of the season in terms of tackling. The starting outside corner will work to impress again in Week 15, as the Dolphins travel to Houston for what essentially amounts to a must-win matchup on Sunday.

Fuller has played all over the secondary since Washington made him a third-round pick in 2016, but he primarily took perimeter CB snaps the past three seasons and had one of his better years in 2022 with 13 pass defenses and three interceptions (two returned for TDs). He only had 52 tackles, however, down from 77 the previous year but not too far out of line with his pre-2021 numbers. Fuller remains locked in as a starter but probably has more value to Washington's defense than an IDP fantasy team.
Fuller had only one interception last year but otherwise enjoyed a solid statistical campaign, starting each of his 16 games and tying for the sixth most pass defenses (16) in the NFL. He also had 77 tackles, his most since 2018, and remains locked in for an every-down role heading into his age-27 season.
The first season of Fuller's second stint with Washington was a big success, as the team reached the playoffs while the player picked off four passes in 14 regular-season games. While he may not be mistaken for a dominant cover man, he's proved himself capable at pretty much every spot in the secondary. He seems to have a home on the perimeter, at least for now, but there will be far more IDP upside if Washington shifts him to the slot in its nickel defense - something he's done in the past but not so much last season.
Following a two-year stint in Kansas City, Fuller finds himself back in Washington where he spent the first two seasons of his NFL career. He isn't dominant as a pure cover man, nor as a ballhawk, but Fuller does offer the ability to provide competent play at any position in the secondary. That might mean playing outside corner in the base defense and slot corner in nickel packages, or it could mean he steps in at safety if the Redskins lose a starter. Either way, Fuller has IDP potential beyond what he showed in his final season with the Chiefs, as we've seen him hit high marks of 82 tackles (2018), 12 pass defenses (2018) and four interceptions (2017).
The Chiefs landed Fuller as part of their return for trading Alex Smith to the Redskins prior to the 2018 season and he paid dividends right out of the gate. After starting just 12 games during his first two seasons in the league with Washington, Fuller started 15 games last year and racked up a career-best 82 tackles (64 solo) to go along with two interceptions and a forced fumble. The departure of Steven Nelson, who received a sizable pay raise from the Steelers, could position Fuller for even tougher coverage assignments this season, with free-agent signee Beshaud Breeland slated to occupy the outside corner spot opposite him.
Fuller, the Redskins’ third-round draft pick in the 2016 draft, played college ball at Virginia Tech, where he had extremely impressive freshman and sophomore seasons before suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee prior to the 2015 season. Fuller has two brothers currently in the NFL, and clearly possesses natural instincts on the football field. Whether those instincts will translate into fantasy production in 2016 is very questionable, as the Redskins recently acquired Josh Norman and have up-and-comer Bashaud Breeland at the other corner. Fuller will get a chance to shine at some point in the near future, but whether that chance will come this season or not is a big question mark.
