Gilmore, who was unable to go in either of the Saints' playoff games, finished the year with three catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Gilmore was almost exclusively a blocker with Jimmy Graham the tight end option in the passing game. He is a free agent and is unlikely to be retained in New Orleans with David Thomas set to return from injury,

Gilmore is a blocking tight end and is a non-factor in fantasy every year except for the fact that he occasionally provides some nice blocks for the team's running backs.
Though Gilmore caught a career-high 15 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in 2008, do not expect him to improve on those numbers in 2009. Gilmore will never be a fantasy-worthy TE as his value is as a blocker. In addition, he should be the third-string TE in 2009 for the Buccaneers with the acquisition of Kellen Winslow.
The Buccaneers signed Gilmore after he left the Bears over the winter. He was utilized primarily as a blocker by the Bears, but Jon Gruden said over the summer that he really liked Gilmore's hands, so we'll see if he challenges Alex Smith for playing time.
Gilmore will be the third tight end on the Bears' depth chart this year and be used primarily for blocking and on special teams.
Gilmore will compete for the backup tight end job during training camp. Considering he has two receptions in the last three seasons combined, he's not likely to have fantasy value.
Though Gilmore enters the season as the Bears' No. 3 tight end, his impressive training camp could lead to an increased role in the offense this year. With Chicago not sold on its top two tight ends, Desmond Clark and Dustin Lyman, Gilmore might be given a chance to play with the starters, giving him a bit of fantasy value. While he's someone to keep an eye on, he's not someone to even think about taking on draft day.
He will be a backup TE for the Bears this year. He has no fantasy value.
Would seem to be lost in the mix of Chicago tight ends, as John Davis and Desmond Clark figure to be ahead of him on the depth chart.
