A 2023 fifth-round pick, Hall started Week 9 last season after Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending torn Achilles' tendon. Hall lasted all of 11 offensive snaps versus Atlanta before he was concussed and replaced by trade pickup Joshua Dobbs. Dobbs then started the next four games before giving way to Nick Mullens. Coach Kevin O'Connell, trying to find an offensive spark, went back to Hall as the Week 17 starter but then pulled him at halftime against the Packers after he went just 5-for-10 passing for 67 yards with one interception with a lost fumble. Hall was waived by the Vikings on Thursday, as they opted to go with Brett Rypien as their No. 3 option at quarterback instead. The BYU product will now fill that void for Seattle, as the team only had starter Geno Smith and backup Sam Howell at the position between its active roster and practice squad before today. Hall appeared in three contests for Minnesota last season, completing 13 of his 20 pass attempts for 168 yards and an interception, while also losing two fumbles.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Undersized as a signal-caller (6-0, 206), Hall was a capable two-year starter at BYU, posting a 51:11 TD:INT and 655 rushing yards in 22 starts. In a 2023 Draft with many older quarterback prospects, Hall turned 25 years old in March, so it's tough to assume he'll have enough runway in the NFL to contend for a top spot. However, Hall will have a chance to push Nick Mullens for the Vikings' backup QB job to starter Kirk Cousins.
