2024 Fantasy Outlook
Carter fell to ninth in the 2023 NFL Draft, where the Eagles were happy to add him to their group of young Georgia defenders. He started just a single game as a rookie but had a significant enough rotation role (48 percent of defensive snaps) to show off his talent, finishing second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. Carter was third on the team in sacks (6.0) and third in tackles for a loss (eight), adding 33 total tackles, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown. His importance to the Eagles should grow in his second season with Fletcher Cox retired and 35-year-old Brandon Graham's role likely to shrink. Read Past Outlooks

Carter (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
The defensive tackle was a limited participant Wednesday after appearing on the injury report with the shoulder issue. Carter played on 90 percent of the Eagles' defensive snaps in last week's win over the Panthers, logging three solo tackles. The second-year pro has yet to miss a game all year, and he appears on track to play again this Sunday against the Steelers.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Carter slipped on draft day in part due to a Jan. 15 incident that resulted in charges of reckless driving, but his ability between the lines isn't in doubt. The Eagles traded up to select him at the No. 9 spot, creating a potential defensive tackle tandem of the future with former Georgia teammate Jordan Davis. Assuming Carter's off-field issues don't prevent him from making the most of his talent, he should spend plenty of time in NFL backfields just as he did in college, though Davis and Fletcher Cox make for stiff competition for snaps.
