Doaks only saw action on the practice squad as a rookie in 2021, and the Dolphins have since added multiple options atop the backfield depth chart. Heading into Year 2, Doaks is competing for an opportunity to stick with the team in any capacity.

Doaks is a rare seventh-round rookie with a real opportunity for touches. He boasts equivalent investment capital to the backs ahead of him on the depth chart, like Myles Gaskin (2019 seventh-round pick), Salvon Ahmed (2020 UDFA) and Malcolm Brown (veteran signing). Perhaps more importantly, Miami has proven willing to ride the hot hand when it comes to backfield carry allotment. Doaks boasts a three-down skillset, but he also missed time due to injury in each of his three collegiate seasons.
