The Seahawks waived Clark on Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After reports that Clark's second-tenure in Seattle was coming to a close, the two sides officially parted ways Saturday. The veteran edge rusher appeared in six games since signing with the Seahawks on Oct. 26, recording just six total tackles on 142 defensive snaps. Derick Hall is expected to see increased opportunities as a reserve outside linebacker going forward.

Clark signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Broncos this offseason, and he'll bring a veteran presence to an already strong defensive unit in Denver. Clark finished his 2022 season with the Chiefs, recording 39 tackles and five sacks across 15 games. The 30-year-old will look to contribute immediately as a starter in 2023.
Clark's 2021 availability remains in limbo following an arrest in June that resulted in felony charges. He's in camp with the club and should start on the defensive line as long as he's available after totaling 29 tackles (21 solo) and six sacks in what was a somewhat disappointing 2020 campaign.
Clark probably has the ability to do significantly more than he did in 2019, his first year with the Chiefs. Playing 736 snaps in 14 games, he totaled 37 tackles and eight sacks. He made five additional sacks in his three playoff games, though, and if you include those stats with the regular season numbers you get 46 tackles and 13 sacks on 902 snaps. Clark has yet to play more than 742 defensive snaps in a season, but he'd project among the league leaders in sacks if he could just get over the 800-snap mark.
Clark retains his DL eligibility with the Chiefs switching to a 4-3, cementing him as one of this year's top high-upside IDPs. The Chiefs figure to protect plenty of leads, and opponents have no choice but to throw to keep up with Patrick Mahomes. With more dropbacks come more sack opportunities for Clark, who also could see his snap count jump to more than 800 after logging fewer than 750 the last two years in Seattle. Clark's tackle production is modest (73 the last two years), so he might go cold between the sack sprees, but the high points should be notable.
With Michael Bennett traded to Philly and Cliff Avril retired due to neck issues, Clark is easily the most elite pass rusher left in Seattle. Heading into his fourth pro season, Clark has racked up 19 sacks and four forced fumbles in the last two campaigns. Clark should continue to play around 50 defensive snaps per game and be in the running for another double-digit sack season.
Clark was able to carve out a role for himself on a very talented defensive line, recording 47 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles in 15 games last season. Now heading into his third season, no team will be caught off guard by Clark's menacing playing style, which could mean a slight decline in numbers. However, the 24-year-old is expected to remain as a substitute behind starters Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril, giving opponent's offensive lines no breaks when it comes to the pass rush.
Clark had a promising rookie season in 2015, totaling three sacks on 333 snaps. Perhaps most important he showed none of the character flaws that caused his draft stock to sink to the second round. He'll be a big part of the D-Line rotation again this year. He's expected to see increased snaps and with it increased tackles and sacks. He's a long way from IDP relevance, but he's an important part of Seattle's defensive front.
A controversial 2015 second-round pick because of off-field trouble at Michigan, Clark is an athletic defensive lineman who can play outside and inside. At 6-3, 271, Clark has a big swingspan and runs a 4.6 40. He won't start, but he'll be a big part of the defensive line rotation if he develops as hoped.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could return to K.C.
LBFree Agent
October 14, 2023
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Clark returning to the Chiefs is "the most likely scenario" once he clears waivers.
ANALYSIS
The writing was on the wall for Clark's release from the Broncos on Friday after he agreed to a pay cut Thursday that reduced his base salary to the minimum $841,000. He missed three games while recovering from a partial abductor tear and played in just 11 snaps in his return in Week 5 against the Jets before missing Thursday's contest against the Chiefs with an illness. Clark played in Kansas City from 2019 to 2022 and was instrumental in the team's three Super Bowl appearances during that span. In his last season with the Chiefs, Clark posted 39 tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble in 15 games.
