Dontayvion Wicks

23-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Green Bay Packers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Wicks came in as a fifth-round pick last year and played 50-to-66 percent of snaps in Green Bay's first four games, before sliding back to the bench once 2022 second-rounder Christian Watson got healthy. Wicks had just six catches for 85 yards over those first four games, but he caught fire in his part-time role, hauling in 16 of 22 targets for 279 yards over a six-game stretch in which he never played more than 30 snaps. He became a starter again in December with Watson and fellow rookie Jayden Reed bothered by injuries, only to suffer a chest injury of his own in the process of making a TD catch Week 16. Wicks came back Week 18 and caught a pair of TD passes, giving him a 16-207-3 receiving line on 22 targets over his final four appearances of the regular season. He then split snaps with Watson in two playoff games and had 2-25-1 on four targets, while Romeo Doubs took the lead in Green Bay's passing game. Overall, Wicks' rookie season was a pleasant surprise given his 430-yard senior year at Virginia and 4.62 40 time at the 2023 Combine. On the other hand, he'd put up 1,203 yards and nine TDs as a junior, and his non-40 workout numbers were impressive, including a 39-inch vertical and 130-inch broad jump at 6-1, 206. Wicks is probably the most physical among Green Bay's group of talented young wideouts, but the target projection is tricky given that Watson, Doubs and Reed all were drafted earlier and also have made their respective cases as NFL starters. It might take an injury or two for Wicks to get the volume he deserves in a Green Bay offense that caught fire in the second half of last season with QB Jordan Love and HC Matt LaFleur firing on all cylinders. Four catches in division loss
WRGreen Bay Packers
December 5, 2024
Wicks secured four of five targets for 49 yards in the Packers' 34-31 loss to the Lions on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Wicks tied Tucker Kraft for second in targets and Christian Watson for the team lead in receptions, although he was a distant second to the latter in receiving yards. Nevertheless, it was notable that Wicks logged four more targets than No. 1 receiver Jayden Reed, who went without a catch. Wicks has back-to-back four-reception outings heading into a Week 15 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday night, Dec. 15, but he could be looking at a reduced role if Romeo Doubs (concussion) returns for that game.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After a 2021 season with Virginia in which he averaged 21.1 yards per catch and scored nine touchdowns, Wicks fell off last year (14.3 YPC, two TDs) and subsequently fell down draft boards. Even so, the Packers liked him enough to snap him up in the fifth round of this year's draft. Drops were an issue for Wicks, as were his 40-yard dash times (4.62 at the combine, 4.57 at his pro day). He otherwise rates well athletically and can be a big-play threat. Green Bay's receiving room is as green as any in the NFL, so if Wicks shows he's more like the receiver from 2021 than a year ago, he could snag the fourth spot on the depth chart and push for snaps as a rookie.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should be WR2 for Pack in Week 5
WRGreen Bay Packers
October 5, 2024
Wicks will likely be the No. 2 wideout behind Jayden Reed for Sunday's game against the Rams due to Romeo Doubs being suspended and Christian Watson doubtful to play with a sprained left ankle, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wicks saw a team-high 13 targets from quarterback Jordan Love during the Packers' Week 4 loss against the Vikings, which the former converted into five catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Wicks also played a season-high 56 snaps on offense, which was in large part due to Watson's exit from the game and the Packers being down by 21 points at the start of the second half. With Doubs suspended for one game and Watson unlikely to play, Wicks could be in line for another high-volume outing Sunday.
