Released by Seattle after missing all but two games in 2017, Shead was a 15-game starter for the Seahawks in 2016 who cranked out 56 tackles, 15 pass breakups and one interception working alongside the vaunted Richard Sherman. Now in Detroit, Shead again finds himself in the mix for a No. 2 role behind another blue-chip corner in 2018 first-team All-Pro Darius Slay. However, Shead will need to fend off both Nevin Lawson and Teez Tabor for snaps in 2018, and more than likely he'll split playing time with them throughout the season, making it hard to justify any of them as IDP options from the get-go.
