Rest-of-Season Projections
Heads to free agency
Miami released Core (undisclosed) with a non-football injury designation Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The contract Core signed with the Dolphins back in January didn't last even six months, and he'll now be forced to look for another opportunity elsewhere. He hasn't seen game action since 2019, so he's very unlikely to be fantasy-relevant this season regardless of where he might end up.

Core was set to begin 2019 roughly in the same spot as he was in before 2018 -- fighting to make the roster and projected to see most of his playing time on special teams if he does make the team. Then the Bengals lost A.J. Green to an ankle injury and John Ross to a hamstring injury, leaving Core to work alongside Tyler Boyd with the first-string offense in training camp. There are still a few obstacles between Core and regular snaps on offense, including his subpar performance over the past three seasons in limited opportunities. Even if Green and Ross miss time in the regular season, Core will need to fend off competition from Alex Erickson and Josh Malone, among others.
