Inactive Saturday
Spiller (coach's decision) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Titans, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Spiller found himself back in Kansas City earlier this week when Akeem Hunt (ankle) landed on injured reserve. That said, the backfield rides the coattails of Kareem Hunt, so Spiller's services won't be needed with strategic decisions made elsewhere on the game-day roster. Behind Kareem Hunt, Charcandrick West and Anthony Sherman will take any residual reps that don't go to the top running back.

Spiller has failed to live up to his lofty draft selection (ninth overall) by the Bills in 2010, topping 1,000 yards rushing just once over his first seven professional campaigns. With nagging injuries a factor, Spiller spent the last two seasons buried on depth charts, carrying the ball just 36 times for 112 yards for the Saints in 2015 (though he added 34 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns) and only six times for 18 yards with six receptions last year between his time with the Jets and Seahawks. The veteran can still contribute on special teams as a returner, however. He's now in the Chiefs' backup RB mix, along with Charcandrick West, behind promising rookie starter Kareem Hunt.
