Beebe caught two passes for 70 yards through three games before going down with an ankle injury, and he spent the rest of the season on injured reserve. Bisi Johnson then worked as Minnesota's No. 3 wideout and had the second-most offensive snaps among the group with Adam Thielen missing six games. Stefon Diggs may have been shipped to Buffalo, but the selection of Justin Jefferson with the 22nd overall pick figures to fill the bulk of that void. Beebe likely will be battling Johnson for the No. 3 job again in 2020, though free-agent signing Tajae Sharpe may be the early favorite. Regardless, the role is unlikely to have significant volume given the presence of Thielen and Jefferson in addition to the Vikings' reliance on two-tight end formations.

Beebe didn't put together a particularly impressive collegiate resume, recording 64 receptions, 930 yards and three touchdowns during five seasons with Northern Illinois, but the son of nine-year pro Don Beebe, Chad is poised to compete for the No. 3 role with former first-round pick turned disappointment, Laquon Treadwell and rookie Dillon Mitchell.
