Captain Munnerlyn

The 28-year-old cornerback enters the final season of his three-year contract with the Vikings after a 2015 campaign in which he notched 55 tackles, one sack, four passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and a defensive touchdown. The team drafted Mackensie Alexander out of Clemson during the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, who along with Trae Waynes, could compete with Munnerlyn for snaps while veteran Terence Newman and former first-rounder Xavier Rhodes figure to lead the cornerback corps.

Munnerlyn's level of play dropped as he moved from Carolina to Minnesota last year, but he's still going to compete against Terence Newman and Trae Waynes for a starting spot opposite lead corner Xavier Rhodes. It's more likely that Munnerlyn will settle in as the team's nickel corner, however.

Munnerlyn parlayed a strong season in Carolina (73 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and two touchdowns) into a three-year, $14.25 million contract with the Vikings. He'll provide a big boost to a secondary that was among the worst in the league last season. He'll start at right corner, but will play in the slot against three-receiver sets.

Munnerlyn recorded 61 tackles and two picks in 16 games (including 11 starts) with the Panthers last season. He is expected to serve as the team's top cornerback in 2013.

Will start opposite Chris Gamble at cornerback but isn't expected to have much IDP value given his history of low interceptions and tackles.

Totaled 44 tackles as a rookie backup last year. Not likely to get much playing time unless injuries hit the secondary.
