ANALYSIS
He had been complaining about a lack of playing time, so the Lions decided to part ways. Kelly could end up with another job in the final weeks of the season if there are teams looking to add depth at corner for the stretch run and postseason.

Kelly will likely start at corner, but could see some competition.
Missed most of 2006 (turf toe, requiring surgery). However, Kelly led the NFL in interceptions in 2002, and when he's been healthy over the past five seasons, he's averaged a pick every four and a half games.
He's the "other corner" on the Bucs, playing to the left of Ronde Barber. Led the NFL in picks back in 2002 and still an effective pass defender when healthly. Four interceptions, 41 tackles, one sack in 2005.
Kelly led the NFL in interceptions when the Bucs won the Super Bowl in 2002, and hasn't been healthy since. He'll start again at corner for the Bucs, and will be a great sleeper in IDP leagues.
Kelly, who led the NFL in interceptions when the Bucs won the Super Bowl in 2002, suffered a torn pectoral muscle early in the 2003 season and had to go on IR for the rest of the year. He'll probably be an overlooked source of INTs in your 2004 draft.
After displacing Donnie Abraham as the Bucs' starting corner in 2001, Kelly entirely took over the left cornerback job last season, racking up 58 tackles, eight interceptions, 28 passes defensed and a sack. With Tampa Bay's fierce pass rush and stout defense, opponents are often forced to come from behind under difficult circumstances, resulting in a lot of picks for their corners over the last few seasons.
