29-Year-Old Defensive EndDE
Carolina Panthers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Robinson inked a three-year, $22.5 million dollar deal with the Panthers this offseason after a one-year stint with the Giants, with whom he posted 62 tackles, including six tackles for loss, while appearing in 17 games during the 2023 season. The eight-year defensive lineman has reunited with Panthers' defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero after the two won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021. Expect Robinson to play alongside Derrick Brown as one of Carolina's key interior defensive linemen throughout the coming campaign. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Robinson looked iffy after he was downgraded from a limited participant for Wednesday's practice and then logged a DNP on Thursday. However, the Alabama product will ultimately suit up, which should be good news for the Panthers.

Robinson's campaign came to an end Week 11 last season when he tore his meniscus as a member of the Rams. That didn't stop the Giants from signing the veteran to a one-year deal in the offseason with the expectation that he'll be able to return to full health. If that's the case, Robinson offers New York solid run-stopping and Super Bowl experience. However, he isn't much of a pass rusher - just seven sacks in 93 career games - which limits his appeal as an IDP option.
In the second year of a two-year, $17 million contract, Robinson managed to accrue 67 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in just 585 total snaps through the season. The veteran might have a path to more playing time with Aaron Donald's contract extension potentially causing a holdout or early retirement, and Robinson is coming off a season in which he played all 17 games, giving him the potential to be relied on early and often in 2022.
Robinson was placed on the active/non-football injury list Aug. 9, due to a cardiovascular condition, so he's off the fantasy radar until he's cleared to return to action. Head coach Sean McVay expects the first-year Ram to return at some point this season, though. Robinson was a second-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft and started 37 games over four seasons with Detroit. It's best to take a wait-and-see approach with the veteran.
Robinson missed three games in 2018 but was producing at a level that would've equated to a career-high 60 tackles. We'd like to think he'd be able to further build upon those numbers, but the offseason additions of other talented defensive linemen like Trey Flowers and Mike Daniels could threaten Robinson's snap count.
Quickly becoming recognized as one of the best pass-swatting linemen in the league, Robinson leads all defensive tackles with 13 pass breakups over the past two seasons. He's also churned out 83 tackles and 2.5 sacks over that same time span, steadily becoming the type of player Detroit was hoping to get before choosing him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. However, it's difficult to attain fantasy relevance from the interior of the defensive line, and these numbers don't quite make him worthy of significant IDP consideration. As such, Robinson has more value in reality than in the fantasy realm.
Robinson was on the field for 39.7 percent of the Lions' defensive snaps during his rookie season -- second only to Haloti Ngata on the defensive line -- and posted 30 tackles, two sacks and seven passes defended, which was third-most among all defensive lineman in the league. The 2016 second-rounder is expected to see even more playing time in 2017 and certainly has the look of an ascending IDP candidate in formats that require a DL.
Robinson is deceptively athletic for a man his size, but dropped to the second round in this year's NFL Draft due to concerns over his pass-rush ability. He will bolster Detroit's run defense immediately, however. But, playing behind Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker, Robinson is unlikely to make an IDP splash his rookie year.

Set to visit Giants
DEFree Agent
March 18, 2023
Robinson has a visit scheduled with the Giants on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Robinson had his 2022 season cut short by a torn meniscus, but he is expected to be ready for the 2023 campaign. He most recently played for the Rams and was a consistent run-stuffing presence. If Robinson does land with the Giants, he would join Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams to form a fearsome trio.
