Chickillo announced Sunday he is retiring from football, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Chickillo spent the majority of his career in Pittsburgh but played his final season in Denver, where he recorded 11 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup over 11 games. It's unclear what prompted his immediate retirement, but it's worth noting he was not signed as of Sunday and may have just opted to start a new career.

Chickillo has been cleared by the NFL's investigation into his Oct. 20 arrest and won't face a suspension, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The investigation found insufficient evidence and was closed. Chickillo has played only five games this season between his stint on the Commissioner's Exempt list and a rib injury, but the linebacker is now free to resume his duties on special teams and as a depth option on defense.
