2024 Fantasy Outlook
St. Brown has upped his production with each passing season since the Lions made him a fourth-round pick in 2021. He finished last year with career highs for catches, yards, targets and touchdowns, finishing Top 5 league-wide in each category. Star rookie TE Sam LaPorta took looks away from Detroit's ancillary pass catchers rather than St. Brown, who accounted for 29.9 percent of the targets in his 16 games, up from 27.7 percent the year before. Only CeeDee Lamb had more yards out of the slot than St. Brown's 604, and only Lamb and Tyreek Hill averaged more yards per route from the perimeter (3.3). While 4.51 speed means he'll always be more of a possession/YAC guy than true deep threat, St. Brown wasn't a complete zero downfield last year, tying for 43rd in targets 20-plus yards downfield (15) and 25th in catches (eight). He finished third among WRs in yards after catch (685) for a second straight year and dropped only two of 164 targets. St. Brown is perhaps the most effective short-area receiver in the league, and it's hard to find downside risk given the situational stability with Detroit bringing back QB Jared Goff and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. RANKS
Team-high catch, target totals
St. Brown brought in eight of 10 targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' 40-34 win over the 49ers on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
St. Brown led the Lions in receptions and targets on the night while also recording a receiving touchdown for the third straight game on a four-yard grab late in the third quarter. However, St. Brown also played a key role in another Lions score, feeding the ball to Jameson Williams on an early second-quarter hook and ladder the latter turned into a 42-yard touchdown. St. Brown has at least five receptions in nine consecutive contests heading into the Week 18 home clash against the Vikings that will determine the winner of the NFC North and NFC's No. 1 seed.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
A 2021 fourth-round pick who went beserk in the second half of his rookie year, St. Brown got it done from start to finish in 2022 and definitively answered any doubts about his Year 1 production. An ankle sprain in late September cost him one game and rendered him ineffective in the next two, yet he finished with 106 catches for 1,161 yards and six touchdowns, with no fewer than four receptions or 49 yards in any of his other 14 appearances. The Lions now hope 2022 first-rounder Jameson Williams can emerge as their primary perimeter weapon after a six-game suspension, but that would still leave a boatload of targets for the primarily slot-based St. Brown given the team's otherwise mediocre depth chart at wide receiver and tight end. The tight ends, in particular, appear to be a weak point after last year's T.J. Hockenson trade, leaving the short passing attack in the hands of St. Brown and running backs David Montgomery and 2023 first-round pick Jahmyr Gibbs. Another 100-catch season is coming so long as St. Brown stays relatively healthy.
