22-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Indianapolis Colts
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Colts used the 52nd pick in the 2024 draft on Mitchell, a combine standout who was never his team's top receiver in college. He had just 560 yards in two seasons at Georgia behind WR Ladd McConkey and TE Brock Bowers, before coming into his own at Texas in 2023 with a 55-845-11 receiving line on 92 targets (28 fewer looks than first-round pick Xavier Worthy). There was talk of Mitchell sneaking into the first round after the 2024 Combine, where he had the longest broad jump (136 inches) and third-fastest 40 time (4.34 second) among wide receivers -- while checking in at 6-2, 205. Physically, he's the prototype for a No. 1 receiver, and with plenty of upside for continued development given that he'll turn 22 in October. He figures to replace Alec Pierce as the deep threat alongside Michael Pittman and slot man Josh Downs, with the Colts obviously hoping Mitchell won't be as one-dimensional as Pierce (though it might take some time). Big-time volume in Year 1 is unlikely, as the Colts still have Pittman locked in for a large target share and figure to run a lot with QB Anthony Richardson and RB Jonathan Taylor. Read Past Outlooks

Held catchless in win
WRIndianapolis Colts
January 7, 2025
Mitchell failed to secure his lone target in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell was a complete non-factor in Sunday's contest, unable to reel in the only pass that came his way. The rookie wideout played just 16 of the Colts' 78 offensive snaps while operating as the No. 4 wide receiver behind Michael Pittman (71), Alec Pierce (64) and Josh Downs (59). Mitchell finished the 2024 campaign with just 23 receptions for 312 yards, failing to find the end zone through 17 games. The 22-year-old will enter the second year of his rookie deal in 2025, as the Colts will likely look to get the young receiver more involved in their offensive attack now that he has more experience within their system.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Colts' WR3 for Week 13
WRIndianapolis Colts
November 30, 2024
Mitchell will line up in three-wideout sets alongside Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce for Sunday's game against the Patriots due to Josh Downs being ruled out with a shoulder injury.
ANALYSIS
Downs is considered week-to-week, so Mitchell could be in line for more offensive snaps beyond Week 13. Mitchell has had an up-and-down rookie season, though some of that inconsistency can be chalked up to whether he has caught passes from Joe Flacco or Anthony Richardson. Pittman will likely draw the attention of Patriots top corner Christian Gonzalez on Sunday, so Mitchell has an opportunity to get more open looks in the passing game from Richardson.
