2024 Fantasy Outlook
Drafted in the second round in 2020 in the hopes he could become Green Bay's next Eddie Lacy, the 247-pound Dillon has instead seen his yards per carry decline every year, bottoming out at 3.4 last season. The Packers brought him back on a one-year deal, but they then added MarShawn Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Dillon was later placed on season-ending injured reserve in late August, after suffering his second neck stinger within a period of eight months. Read Past Outlooks

Hits injured reserve
The Packers placed Dillon (neck) on injured reserve Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
For the second time in the calendar year 2024, Dillon is dealing with a stinger, which will end his upcoming season before it even begins. With Dillon on IR, Josh Jacobs will have unfettered access to Green Bay's backfield, while rookie third-rounder MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) and Emanuel Wilson serve as the reserves to begin the campaign.

How does the Bears pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?
The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. The team and position group ratings only include players that are currently on the roster and not on injured reserve. The list of players in the table only includes defenders with at least 3 attempts against them.

Dan Marcus goes deep into the free-agent pool to find upside adds who could pay off down the road, if not this week.
There's a lot to keep track of as the Eagles face the Packers, but the headlining stories might be star free agent RB pickups Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs.

2020
Dillon remains an overqualified backup, but at least one who plays more than most other backup running backs. Indeed, in the last two years the Packers have shifted away from Aaron Jones as the clear starter and implemented a rotation of quasi-equals similar to how the Saints once used Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. Dillon is the powerful counterpart to the slashing Jones, and it seems like tasks will continue to split between the two on a situational basis. As much as that might be ideal for the Packers offense, it isn't for the fantasy production of either player. Dillon might be an RB1 if Jones were to miss time, just as Jones was a fantasy RB1 before Dillon's involvement increased the last two years. Aaron Rodgers' departure this offseason brings with it the threat of Green Bay's offense declining for a second straight year, but it might also work out for Dillon if the Packers run the ball more often with Jordan Love under center and remain reasonably efficient overall.

Trims body fat to four percent
Dillon checks in at about 245 pounds with four percent body fat heading into the 2024 season after playing at 252 pounds with nine percent body fat in 2023, according to Ryan Wood of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Dillon is in the best shape of his career, and he's hoping the slimmer frame will help him bounce back after he plodded to a career-low 3.4 yards per carry during the 2023 regular season. The Packers signed Josh Jacobs in free agency and selected MarShawn Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, so Dillon could find himself phased out of Green Bay's offense if his improved fitness doesn't translate to better results on the field.
